Transmission pan
Looking for a transmission pan with a drain plug at bottom for my 99 C5. Stock capacity would be ok or maybe 2 extra quarts. Want to be able to change fluid in pan without having to remove it everytime. When I search all I can find are huge pans that say I will need to modify shift cable.
Thanks in advance for any help.

I installed a #16C5 deep aluminum pan from this vendor:

It fits perfectly, and no modifications of any kind are required to install it.

As a side benefit, with the cast aluminum cooling fins and the extra fluid capacity, it keeps my transmission fluid about 10 -15 degrees cooler.
The pan comes with a standard drain plug. I replaced it with a magnetic drain plug.

Does this deep transmission pan requirement a different filter than the stock filter? Thanks!

It uses the same P/N stock filter. Filter supports are cast into the bottom of the pan.

Ive never had to even touch the shift cable. Any pan for a 700R4, 4L60, 4L60E or 4L65E will work fine. They are all the same. Some might require a filter extension. Summit has a nice one for a good price,

Not exactly true! The C5 pan requires a fill plug hole in the proper location.
