Default Help with rev limiters

Hello
I have an 04 with an automatic. I changed the rear to 3.42. I programmed the computer with my Predator programmer. I just changed the rear ratios. Now if I floor it the rev limiters kick in before the transmission shifts gears. Anybody out there know what I am doing wrong with the program? I thought I just had to change the rear end settings
Thanks in advance
Tom

im pretty sure the shift points are based on mph and rpms. you will need to do the calculations with your new diff ratio to figure out at what mph to make the transmission shift. the shift point is calculated differently for WOT than partial throttle. at WOT, the rpm and mph must meet the requirements to shift, whereas during partial throttle it only considers rpm and thottle position.

here are a few threads that might help you out:

correct.

For the C5 A4, there are two values that need met in order for a WOT shift to happen; one is an RPM value, the other is a MPH value.

the non-calculator way is to place your A4 in "1" and take it to 6000rpm, noting the MPH reading on the speedo. Then program your WOT 1-2 shift to 6000 rpm... at the noted MPH - minus 1.

Next, place your A4 in "2" and take it to 6000rpm, noting the MPH reading on the speedo. Then program your 2-3 WOT shift to 6000 rpm... and at the noted MPH - minus 2.

Next, place your tranny in "3" and ... if you're brave...

Set the global rev limiter to 6200 rpm; some set it to 6400rpm.
