Default Tpms Training Problem

I had BAKERSFIELD replace the batteries in my TPMS sensors for my 2000. I can get them all to teach except for the LR wheel. They are still out of the car and anytime I try and get one to teach on the LR it doesn't no matter what sensor is there. Any suggestions???

Are you sure you are following the correct procedure?

1. Turn the ignition to ON.
2. Press the RESET button in order to clear any IPC display warning messages.
3. Press and release the OPTIONS button on the DIC to scroll through the display options until the IPC display is blank.
4. Press and hold the DIC RESET button for 3 seconds.
5. Press the OPTIONS button again until the TIRE TRAINING message appears.
6. Press the RESET button until the IPC LEARN L FRONT TIRE message appears in order to begin the programming sequence.
7. Install the J 41760 (Magnet) over the left front valve stem.
8. The horn will sound, indicating the left front TPM sensor is programmed.

Important

If the horn does not sound after 15 seconds, remove then reinstall the TPM sensor programming tool. This procedure may have to be attempted up to three times in some instances.
9. When the horn sounds, proceed to program the next TPM sensor in the following order as directed by the IPC messages:

* LEARN R FRONT TIRE
* LEARN R REAR TIRE
* LEARN L REAR TIRE

That is the procedure I am following. Everything works until I end up at the LR. I have tried switching sensors are and none of them teach in that location.

Ok, in the last paragraph of step 8 it talks about if the horn does not sound in 15 seconds, remove the magnet and try again up to 3 times. Have you tried that?

Just grasping at straws here but try disconnecting the car battery for a minute or so and try the training again.

Also pull your codes.

I have been helping Lennie with this for a couple of weeks now and this is a new one for me too. I suggested the receiver might have a problem and perhaps Lennie could find one over in the C5 Parts section for cheap. Disconnecting the battery is a good idea and perhaps that will clear the problem.

I don't think it's the receiver if it will accept the other sensors. Does the FOB work? Also, are there sensors on the car now other than the ones he is trying to program?

I believe the FOB works. The 4 sensors that Lennie is trying to train are his stock sensors and I don't know if they are mounted yet. I had suggested Lennie train them before mounting them in case one or more sensors didn't work after battery installation. All 4 sensors will train but none of them will train in the LR location. I am thinking maybe the main computer but it is only a guess at this point.
