Default Halltech intake

I just recently purchased a '99 C5 and the previous owner installed what appears to be the Halltech tunnel ram induction on it.
The shroud above the radiator has been cut to accomodate the intake tube which is in front of the radiator.
The filter is very vulnerable to the elements (rain).
Does anyone know if I can re-plumb this tube so the intake sits on top of the shroud?
I may have to drive in the rain and am afraid to as it is now.
I can always patch and paint the hole in the shroud but am curious if it can be re-routed to a new location.

If it's the two piece version, yes. Take the lower sectioned pipe off and orienting it to the left (driver's side) like a reversed "J" and slide the filter on :)

You can purchase a replacement shroud from your Chevy dealer. They are not very expensive.Check out Ken Fichner , a forum supporting dealer. They are super and prices are very fair.
