When I purchased my 99, it already had TPIS headers installed. Now, and excuse me if I don't use the correct terminology, I noticed small cracks at the junction of the small pencil thin cross tubes where they meet with the large tube. The headers are ceramic coated. Is it possible to remove the small tubes (I've noticed on newer vettes that they have already been eliminated) and have the small openings welded? Everything looks pretty accessible without having to remove the headers. Or does this have to be a much bigger time consuming job, such as removing the headers for repair.
Any thoughts?
