Default DVD player in 2001 coupe.

hey all, I was wanting to ditch the factory head unit and go with a nice 7 inch DVD player with all the bells and whistles... I read a couple of threads so far, but nothing that i have found real definate on which way to go and what i might run into. i did read one that said something about loosing th 8 inch speakers with an aftermarket unit.

anyways, any feed back, and or comments welcome.

thanks.

read the sticky in the c5 audio section and search for Double Din Installs too. Those were enough for me to pull the trigger on a upgraded sound system. Sounds super sweet!! Good luck. R/ Al

The guy had his dash modded. Although I have never seen a screen that big, Dennis (c5bearsfan) does that kind of work all the time. He did mine and I'm sure hundreds more members here. He takes your radio benzel and cuts it and then remolds it so it can fit aftermarket stereos. Mostly double din Navigation units. Look up C5bearsfan and check out h is website. Good luck. R/ Al

I have a DVD unit in mine. I love the sound that I can get from the unit due to a high amount of things I can change in the sound but to be honest its been 3 years and have not once watched a full DVD..but the sound is a hundred times better than the stock bose unit it came with.

How did you guys hook it up so a dvd plays while driving? I have a switch I have to toggle several times before it comes on but want to bypass that so my son can watch a movie on long trips.
