I have 02. Over the past couple of months, one of my TPMS has been not transmitting on pressure(i.e. the DIC list the tire, but there is no pressure stated). Last night, I went out for a drive, and I got a "Service Tire Pressure Mon Sys". I checked the tire pressures on the DIC. That specific tire pressure indicated about 37psi. I checked the pressures on the DIC again a little later, and the DIC state "Rxxx". I looked in both the owner's manual, and the service manual, and there is no reference to "Rxxx". What does that indicate? Does that mean the tire pressure sensor is bad? Thanks for any feedback.

The battery in that unit is dead and it needs to be replaced.

I appreciate the quick response. Can you get replacement batteries? I thought you had to replace the sender complete. If you can get batteries, can you suggest a vender. Thanks.

You'll want to use the search for answers to questions like this. Here's a great thread on the topic including battery vendor discussion and videos of the repair: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-t...-tutorial.html

Since yours is a 2002, I think that I would just replace the sensor. The various threads describing battery replacement are for the 1999-2000 sensors. The 2002-2004 sensors are different and are relatively inexpensive.

2001-2004 Sensors

25773946 - sensor – 40.60 each
15234846 - nuts – 3.89 each

Total setup of 4 is 195.40 shipped

1997-2000 Sensors

25981210 - sensor – 100.78 each
15234846 - nuts – 3.89 each

Total setup of 4 is 459.71 shipped

That's the thing to do, how many miles on the sensors?
