I am on the fence on getting one but I do not want to move my maf directly in front of the TB, does anyone know for sure or has it set up to where the duct is placed in the factory position leaving the maf dowstream (like it is now)?

You do not have to move the MAF but you have the option to!!!!
Careful! The 2000 model is unique! Depending on the date it was built the motor mounts are different. The earlier build model (mine 7/99) has a mount that lowers the engine by 1". My power duct would not clear the radiator support and I had to mount the MAF up front. Some mods (cutting) were required to the duct body to get it to fit. Vararam has a different model duct for my model if you still want the MAF up front. Call Vararam and ask their tech support.

my tuner told me that the power duct was not worth the $. so i just went with vararam and stock air bridge and i am happy with the results. it is a pita to install but not so bad that i would do it again if i had to.
I have found that keeping the stock arrangement, with the accordian connection at the throttle body, makes the maintenance of the filter much easier! Never had a problem for the last two years.
