cleaning maf........................
i seen a topic a while back where someone cleaned their mass air flow sensor and it picked the car performance up. just wondering if anyone has done this and how do you do it without damaging anything. my car is running good, i am just curious. it makes sense to keep it clean though. thanks. :chevy

yup, be careful when you clean that thing. The element is in the middle of the MAF, that is what you need to be careful of :yesnod:

I've done it, and it worked. I have a vortex cold air and a Granatelli MAF, which has no screen and is a wide open element. Be wary of brand new high flow (oiled) filters for maybe the first 5K, and if you've recently cleaned and reoiled (especially if you think you've over-oiled). Minute particles of oil get sucked through and put a fine layer of grime on the wires, and can confuse readings.
