on my 04 the engine belt makes a chirping noise when engine is cold, when it warms up the noise quiets or goes away altogether, seems to be louder on the passenger side of the engine. Is this the belt or a pully or both?
You can hope it's that easy. I changed my tensioners and belts with no change. I think it's my AC Compressor clutch. Same conditions as yours it goes away after warming up. When I turn the AC off the chirp stops.
There are 2 belts, the serpentine and the A/C belt.
the A/C belt is the lower one, you can remove it and drive without any issues. Remove it and see if your squeak contines or not.
IF it continues the problem is on the mail serpentine. If it stops, the problem is in the A/C belt.
Remove the offending belt and had spin all the pulleys. The should feel smooth ( not gritty) to turn and then should have no play ( wobble).
IF you find one that wobbles, does not spin freely or feels gritty, you have identified your problem.
IF you have eliminated everything else on the A/C belt, then the only thing left is the A/C clutch.
IF you have eliminated all other pulleys on the main serpentine, then the problem is the harmonic ballancer.
The best replacement belts are GoodYear Gatorbacks.
I had a chirp the first 20 seconds while cold and it ended up being the serpentine belt tensioner. But as already mentioned, check all the pulleys before making any changes.
