Is it possible to bolt a bellhousing from a camaro 4L60E to a covette transmission? (Change input shaft, etc.) If not, is it possible to bolt the C5 differential to a camaro 4L60E case? (Change output shaft, etc)
In case it is not obvious I am looking into a mid engine application. I have not been able to find any useful information online other than photoshopped pictures.
For what it's worth, I have been calling aftermarket manufacturers and so far have been told that I can bolt the front bell housing from a standard 4l60e transmission to the covette model and that the input splines of the corvette 4l60e match up to a LT1 torque converter.
Reality check please. Does that sound right to you folks? I know this combination will be long for a car but this will go into a v8 trike so the length is actually an advantage.
What do you think? 400 hp, 1000 pounds and only 1 seat.
Talk to the guys at Mongoose Motorsports. They have bolted together something similar for their mid engine Corvette GTP car. I'm sure they can tell you what works.
