MMS just finished the stage II heads and cam (218/218) yesterday.
Dyno before install was 296, and we finished at 375, although that peak Hp number starts at 5800 and ends at 6400, so it's a pretty fat curve.
rpm before after
4500 260 310
5000 290 345
5500 295 365
6000 293 373
6500 270 372
Second gear rolling runs (30mph+) are absolutely amazing - feels like a 100 shot!
Exhaust sounds very radical at WOT, and idle somewhat louder, with a very mild lope that's barely there.
Car drives very well, is louder at part throttle, but astonishing at WOT.
Remember this is an A4 with a Yank converter.

Re: MMS stage II package Completed! (bruce1)
That is awesome. Could you please answer some questions for as as I am going to do a very similiar package later this year...
I also have a Yank converter (3500).
1. How many miles were on your car when you did the heads/cam?
2. What happenes whaen you punch it from under 30 MPH?
3. When you punch it from 2nd, (35+ MPH), do the tires still spin or does it just take off like a rocket?
4. How is it on the highway when you punch it from 60 or 70 MPH?
5. And finally...would you suggest putting a package like yours in for a daily driver with 40,000 miles on it?
Thank you for your time, I can't wait for mine....
Nice numbers. Are those numbers corrected or actual?
I will have my MMS S2 package installed in the next couple of weeks, however I live at 6000ft asl so my actual numbers probably wont be that high,my installer http://www.sandsmotorsports.com gauranteed 400 rwhp sae corrected. My package is the same as yours minus the BBK and Maf.
Re: MMS stage II package Completed! (another mitch)
Speed racer: OUTSTANDING !!! Good numbers, you are gonna LOVE that cam. I have nearly the same package, but with Stage IIx heads (higher compression), and minus the BBK. Outstanding drivability, great power.
another Mitch: I am at the same altitude, I HIGHLY reccomend the high compression heads. They really work well at altitude. At sea level I dyno'd 412 rwhp (sae corrected), at 5200 ft I dyno'd 409, also sae corrected.
Michael - The car was in the shop for 5 days, including the 1 dyno day. Actually monday in and done by thurs nite. :smash:
davette - Total was around 7K minus BBK Tbody, new underdrive pulley
GMS Mass airflow, MSD wires,NGK plugs and 160 stat. Total with labour 8K
Labour was around $1500
From my experience, ported heads tend to burn cleaner than stock heads and this cam will pass smog. It's not an aggressive stick. I had much more aggressive cam in the LT1 (ZZ9) and was very clean.
evil-1 - Let us know your #'s. I would guess 415rwhp on your setup
RobsC5 - Hey bud! See ya at the drags next time!
wallstAL - We just got the rain - perhaps in a few weeks I will sneak a day off and run her. :D
bruce1 - Thanks Dude!

1. How many miles were on your car when you did the heads/cam? - 24K
2. What happenes whaen you punch it from under 30 MPH? - Even stock the car would light up. Now it's prolly worse :)
3. When you punch it from 2nd, (35+ MPH), do the tires still spin or does it just take off like a rocket? - It will spin under 40. Second now feels like first did before.
4. How is it on the highway when you punch it from 60 or 70 MPH? - It goes to second gear and goes slightly sideways then it fly's!
5. And finally...would you suggest putting a package like yours in for a daily driver with 40,000 miles on it?. Absolutely Yes. These LS1's are very strong motors!!
another mitch - numbers are corrected.
6Speeder - you and some one else inspired me to go and do it. Love your #'s. It's amazing how much the A4 vs. M6 #'s differ

Re: MMS stage II package Completed! (Ben01C5)
I just did my heads at 58,000 the cam was in at 38,000 I think last year. It's putting down some good numbers and has had when many days at 6000 rpm at the track. Probably 30-40 days. I change the oil after each weekend at the track or 3,000-4,000. Do it! Good luck with your new power too!
Six speeder,My setup includes the stageIIx heads. It is my understanding that Mike Morgan spent alot of time developing a package for higher altitude cars.I left it up to Mike and Chris to spec out the package with the understanding that I didn't want to lose reliability and emissions compliance.I cant wait to get it done,it should be a real kick in the Butt :D
