I hopped in the Vette today and noticed the windshield wipers had not returned to their off position. I activated them and they didn't work. Later in the day they work on their own stil not returning to their off position. Get this... they activated on their own. I tried to turn them on and no way they would work. I need some suggestions as to what is happening. Have you guys ever seen anything like this? Where is the motor located and how do I get to it? I will check the fuse but it is clearly not the fuse or they wouldn't be working at all.
Page 2. I pulled intp Pizza Hut and the wipers go on and will not turn off. This happened at the drive through window. They ran for about 5 minutes with me hitting the washers to pump water on the windsheild to try to keep them from ripping the rubber off the blades. Then they stopped again and would not start back. This must be a huge short somewhere.
Thanks.

Sometimes water will get into the wiper motor cover assembly a cause the problems you are describing. I had the same issues after parking overnight in the rain. I replaced the cover assembly (which contains the circuit board) and all is well now. It's a 30 minute job.
The wiper motor is located on the drivers side underneath the cowl. There are 3 rubber drains underneath the wiper motor that clog with debris, leaves, twigs, etc. If you place your hand underneath the drivers side of your car between the rear of the front wheelhouse, directly where the washer fluid tank is located and white level sensor is, you will be able to feel the 3 drains. Squeeze them and this will clean the debris out. There is also 1 drain on the pass. side and this can be accessed by removing the battery. This drain is much longer, looks like a snake and feeds all the way down to the back of the pass. front fender. Before you replace your wiper motor, clean these drains out so your problem doesn't return.
Mine were all clogged, but I cleaned them out before I had a problem with the motor or a flood inside the car. I also had a huge mouse nest behind the wiper motor! They almost chewed through the wires!

As a follow up.... the water that would not drain because of the clogged utters will cause water leaks on to the BCM and/or short the wiper motor. The mouse nest location that was mentioned is a favorite spot for mice because of that wire bundle. If was was chewed thur it would be big bucks to fix.
