Now i'm just getting whiny with this issue, is there a fix for those arm rest wrinkles where the adhesive failed to stick to the door? Its a show car, and needs to be repaired or replaced.
Can they be glued back?
What glue?
What method?
buy new ones?
I tried regluing also. Didn't work. I bought the stick on arm rests but the wrinkles were too bad to cover. So I made a template of the bottom of the new armrests, just a little smaller. I cut out some 3/16 fiber board using the template, and screwed it down to the old armrest taking out all the wrinkles. At first, I used the double tape to try and stick the new armrests to the fiberboard, but it wouldn't hold. I then used silicone glue and hot glue to attach the armrest. The hot glue held the armrests securily while the silicone glue set. They are still holding with temps outside in the upper 90's.
I bought a new door panel from the dealer for $600.00 and 3 months later it looked just like the old one. What a rip off! I've also been to two different trim shops and they both looked at me like a deer in the headlights. Somebody out there must know of a good fix for this issue?
Must be a common problem for all C5's. Interior is perfect except the dam arm rests. Ideas please.
