TPMS Question
I did a search and found info that the tire pressure sensor is on the stem area of the tire and and can be switched easily with new wheels regardless of brand or type. Is this correct? I have never switched the wheels on my C6 and don't plan to anytime soon, but my friend just bought a '99 vert and he wants to get some aftermarket wheels without messing up the TPMS. The car currently has some nice run flats on it that he plans on keeping and putting on the new aftermarket wheels. Thanks in advance!

They'll work with most wheels, best to ask the wheel supplier to be sure though

You can put them on any wheels with bands if push comes to shove.

Most wheel brands nowadays are TPMS friendly to the stem type sensors commonly used by most all car companies.

Don't forget to make sure the LF goes back onto the LF and so on, or you will have to retrain them again.

When I bought custom rims, the manufacturer actually mounted my TPS sensors in the back side of the rim! The valve stem ont he rim for air is a custom piece and looks great. The TPS sensors calibrated fine.

He may need to replace the sensor O rings when he moves them.
