New MSD wires STINK!
Today was the first day I got to drive the Vette sice I put the MSD wires on last weekend. I can't believe how bad the wires smell when they get hot! They should put a warning label on the box telling you they stink so bad!
Any other MSD owners experience this smell with their new wires?

When I installed my GM hotwires, I did smell them for the first few drives..
Did you re-install the metal heat shields? I did, and I still had a slight burn-in smell. It was gone after 2-3 drives.

No smell here and the engine runs a lot smoother, but they may have been the NGK plugs that did that

I've got pro-sleeve's on mine to protect them from the headers without any problems.

Re: New MSD wires STINK! (vettvert)
Okay, I took the Vette to dinner tonight and no smell. Could it have been that something had to burn off? I checked and the wires aren't against the headers and they show no sign of burns. Anyway, the smell is gone...Thank God!

look under the hood. Did you spill anything? or perhaps something else hitting the exhaust?
