Headlight Motor Rebuild
1. Manually turned the headlight assembly to the up position.
2. Removed the side & top covers.
3. Using a ¼ inch wrench on the bottom and ¼ inch socket on the
other 2 bolts carefully removed them and the gear cover.
4. Reached inside the assembly and removed the nut on the gear
shaft .
5. Pushed the gear shaft & gear out of the motor housing.
6. Cleaned out the motor housing – black pieces from the black
rubber insert.
7. Lubricated new gear and reversed the above procedures.
Take care to keep all washers in place.
This time I had to replace the gear as the 3 of the 4 plastic fins
that the black rubber insert goes into had broken.
Having done both procedures, this method was faster for me.
Worth trying on your next rebuild.
