Default Service active handling = no codes on reader?

Shouldnt I get an error code reading on my diagnostic code reader if I am getting the service active handling light? I am not getting any error codes when I check with my code reader.

I'm not sure but check the sticky Ultimate DIY section at the top of c5 tech. Their is a great write up with pics on why these service abs/active handling warning come up.

Have you tried checking the codes with your DIC?

Generic code reader will NOT get things like AC/AH, HVAC, BCM code-use the reader built into the car.

The generic ones are pretty much a waste of money. Especially compared to the info you can get from the DIC. To bad the C6 didn't continue offering this feature.

Not entirely, the thing the DIC does NOT do is give specific P030x codes and will not give you I/M status monitors. The I/M monitors are the things that will cause you to FAIL emission tests.
