I have read through all the posts on this subject and everything is starting to run together, I can really use some help. I have a 97 M6 that has not had any kind of bypass installed, the lock had been working up until a week ago. It failed two mornings in a row then stopped working completly. I checked the forum for ideas; after cleaning the battery cables, all of a sudden it worked so I figured it was a bad connection. The battery was still under warranty so I got a new one just to be on the safe side. The lock worked fine for another week but then one morning it acted up and the next morning it would not unlock at all. I have tried going back through and checking all the connections, I have 12.6 volts at the battery but still no luck. I tried to follow the wiring diagram somebody posted but I can not find the relay to check the voltage at that point. I have looked around the BCM but I have not found a relay that has the same color wires called out in the diagram. Is the relay located someplace else on a 97?
Trust me I have been praying. I will order the bypass I just wanted to make sure it wasn't something simple like a bad connection somewhere or a bad relay first.
There is a very good "sticky" at the top of the "tech/performance" section. It goes over how to open and the final fix. Its titled "the improved ultimate DYI thread". It also has most everything you will need for most simple fixes.

Thanks I read through that post at the top and used the wiring diagram on page 61 but I can't find the relay in my car. I wanted to verify that it is a bad motor before I install a bypass.
Thanks that helps, I did find that relay. It is not activating when the key is turned to the on position. That is why I think it is not a motor problem.
