Default replacing a 99 radiator

Hi,

Just need some quick advice. I have a cracked radiator and am going to replace it. The repair manuel looks like I need to remove the air intake assembly, but the radiator comes out from below, so I am wondering if all of the upper stuff really needs to come off? I figured someone here has already done this and can advise me.

thanks
Mark

Remove the air box/air induction cone (2 plastic pins pull up on the upper fan shroud) and remove clamps at the throttle body. Remove air flow return hose on air box also. Now remove (2) bolts that hold air box in front on the chassis, now you can get to your radiator. Fan shroud comes off next.

Can the radiator come out the top side, or just the bottom? Hope this isnt too stupid, I"ve only repaced them a couple of times on non-vettes, which came out the top.
Thanks for the info.

I removed mine through the top...it's a bit of a job but not bad and definitely way easier that going through the bottom.

There isn't much that you'll want to take out from the bottom on cars as low as these. Unless you have access to a lift of course.

good luck

top is probably easiest. It's very straight forward. Removing the intake assembly will make it easier. Just loosen the hose clamp from the throttle body and disconnect the plug for the mass air meter and fans. Pull out as a unit. You can then disconnect the hoses and pull from the top.
I have a perfect radiator from my '99 with well under 30k miles if you are local.

Thanks for the help. Didn't take much. Came apart and went back together very easily. Now, on to the next project, the actuator.
