Re-setting mgs on DIC
The re-set button intermittently does not clear messages on the DIC. I believe that this is associated with poor connections to the dash buttons and the associated lights.
Can anyone confirm this. I know there is a past DIY thread on replacing the massive switch that has the contacts for the various dash buttons (GAUGES, TRIP etc) and the backlit bulbs.
Please point me in the right direction if I'm totally lost.

If you suspect the switch contacts are defective depending on your skills, you can get it apart with a lot of effort and clean the contacts yourself. Otherwise, you can buy a new switch assembly. Last I looked, I think it was like $70 or so, but its been a while. You'll need to extract the IP Cluster to get it out as its attached from and on the rear of the cluster. Its not too hard to get out if you lower the steering wheel.
