Has anyone tried one of these ebay clutches? They offer them in stage 1,2 and 3 and many of them come with chromemoly flywheels that are supposedly much lighter. they seem to sell for almost half the price of a comparative name brand unit.
Probably too good to be true but i'm just curious if anyone has had success with one?

I talked with the guy that sales the clutchs. They said if your going to drive it easy and not beat on the car alot they would be fine. If your going to take the car to the track, they said go with SPEC, ACT, Centerforce, and so on. I'm going to use one of their flywheels with my SPEC 3+. The flywheels are very good quality. Mine looks great.
I had the F1 Racing chromoly installed in my car for about 5 minutes. Had other issues that were not the fault of the flywheel mind you, however while I was under my car doing some checking of clutch actuation I could visibly see the flywheel move when the pedal was on the floor. I don't know for a fact if a flywheel should have any movement but I have removed the Centerforce clutch that was in my car and am in the process of installing a new LS7 setup so the flywheel has been removed.
The CF clutch disk contacted my ARP flywheel bolts. The bolts have a bigger head on them so if you go that route make sure you have room for them.
So my review is neither an endorsement of that item but neither is it a stay away from it. I have no driving experience with it.
Gene Culley has a great price for the LS7 clutch/flywheel combination and it does work. I've installed it in my '99. Seriously, the price was excellent.
I have the f1 racing flywheel and it's a awesome piece performs like a lightwheight flywheel does. I'm changing my set up to a Mcleod twindisk/flywheel but if I had to recomend that f1 racing again I would say go for it. As far as ebay clutches I could not tell you real world experience but the ebay flywheel is great stuff.
