Default BlackWing Cold Box

I have a Donaldson Blackwing and bought the Cold air Box. Since reading numerous posts about surging, I never installed the box. Has anyone just cut a few holes in the shroud to provide cold air without mounting the cold air box? Thoughts?

I think most people just cut/drill open the area where the fog lights go and put Z06 screens on.

It seems like doing this provides pretty good air to the blackwing.

If you are interested in selling the cold air cover for a decent % off retail, I might take it off your hands. Send me an email if you are interested in selling it.

I like having all the air going thru the radiator. The screens allow this.
