C5 Temperature -- worried!
I typically drive a Land Rover Discovery, so I'm used to vehicles that overheat. Anyone who has owned one understands why I'm super-paranoid to the temperature gauge in any vehicle I drive nowadays. While the Rover is in the shop (rear ended-bleh), I'm borrowing a C5 from my Mom. It's her baby, obviously. She drove it off the showroom floor and has put 161,000 miles on it since.
Today, I noticed the temperature was creeping well past 220 -- it seemed to level out around 240.
Should I be worried? As a precaution, I replaced her serpentine belt (it was squeaking), but I'm wondering if more needs to be done. I don't typically drive this vehicle so I'm not sure if this is normal for it. The outside temperature in Louisville was 101 degrees today, so I'm sure that contributed, and the temperature spiked while in heavy rush-hour traffic. The radiator fan kicks on and the coolant level is fine.
I've done a little digging and have seen references to Z06's on track day reaching that temperature, but this was 20-30mph heavy traffic in a city. Ambient temp 101.
Thanks!

I've checked mine for debris and such. might do a coolant flush here soon.
