AC Oil Levels
The o-ring going into the condenser started leaking on my sons car and he lost his charge on his AC. We pulled the bad o-ring and replaced it. I am getting ready to recharge the system. I am pulling a vacuum on it right now. How do I know if there is enough oil in the system or not?

Oil moves alaong with the refrigerant If the amount of oil around the leak is small then don't worry just charge it up. Make sure youdo what is called a triple evacuation, what is done is pull a vacuum for about 2 hrs then break with nitrogen or refrigerant to 0 psig pull a second vacuum for about and 1 hour and break the vacuum to 0 psig then a third for about 1/2 hour and charge to proper amout. The reason is the POE oil absorbs moisture.
