I've been getting crappy shifting lately so I am going to change the fluid, align the shifter, do a clutch test, then hope for the best. I don't know how all the gears crap out and get notchy but other times all shift smooth as butter.
I think I am going to use Amsoil ATD (torque drive) for the replacement fluid.
Are there any problems with that fluid or should I get the GM fluid from the dealer, or even something else?
Also is the clutch test, shift into first, get the car up to 6400 rpm, and see if it creeps forward?
I know something is getting angry. Either hydraulics for the clutch or the trans. I hope I don't have to drop it.
Amsoil ATD and Royal Purple Synchromax are both good choices if you want to run synthetic. Otherwise, the GM or Penzoil Synchromesh fluids work really well. Just my $0.02
