A local Vette shop told me that Borla's earlier mufflers had a lot of trouble fitting on the C5's pipes (unlike Corsa). Is there some truth to this? How do the Stingers compare to Borla's earlier exhaust systems? I'm hoping that the shop doesn't charge and arm and a leg to install the Stingers.
Re: Any problems with the Stingers fitting? (kujawk)
I don't have the stinger, but I just put the Borla XR1 on in October. No problems at all fitting it. Only thing was getting the tips to be perfectly symmetrical.
I see you're in Ithaca - I spent 4 years up there at Cornell, 1996 until 2000. :seeya

Noticed you went from Corsa Indy to Stinger. I just installed Corsa Indy with pro tips on my 2001 6spd convertible and to be honest with you I was a little disapointed in the sound. I thought it would be louder. Is this why you changed? How does the Stinger sound compare to the Indy. Would appreciate your input.
Sorry no pics, but my XR Stinger fits better than my Indy's did

Guys,
A local Vette shop told me that Borla's earlier mufflers had a lot of trouble fitting on the C5's pipes (unlike Corsa). Is there some truth to this? How do the Stingers compare to Borla's earlier exhaust systems? I'm hoping that the shop doesn't charge and arm and a leg to install the Stingers.
Thanks,

I installed mine in under 2hrs. No problems at all, they fit perfectly.
Re: Any problems with the Stingers fitting? (kujawk)
Meineke installed mine with an x pipe in about an hour. No problems. They lined up just the way I wanted. Ask in the Northeast forum for an experienced installer in your area. I found one that has done many C-5's.
Love that deep rumble at idle. :D :chevy :D
