I have a ""subjective" question on transmissions.
I'm pushing a little over 650rwhp (616 rwtq) with my blown H/C car. I still have the stock trans (and of course HAVE to take it easy.)
I'm saving $$ to move to a RPM stage V trans.
My question: It looks like I'm going to have access to a Stage IV trans that is in like new condition (He is swapping to a manual) Since I never go to the track (anymore) and run Nitto DRs (NEVER slicks), would a stage IV work with my car?
The only difference in the V and IV is the addition of the GM 5 pinion planetary gearset
I called them a while back, and they actually recommended a STAGE VI
After seeing Madmatt abuse his stage V at the track, with more hp, I knew I didn't need that much

Why not pick up the stage IV and install the 5 pinion gearset?
Yes it will work, but how long is the question............
