Nitrous or a supercharger will blow your socks off.
Think "supercharger", and not just "Procharger". Procharger kits haven't done anything spectacular on Vettes. Others have.
Nitrous is great for added power on a switch!! Filling bottles suck tho. I have had nitrous for a few years now on top of my H/C combo, and am now thinking about going with an ECS or A&A kit to have 550+ at the wheels all the time, and not just when I flip a switch!! Just my .02...
I'd only recommend nitrous on a car thats fast enough to be fun without it. On a mostly stock car you will be using it all the time, which will probably mean you get tired of filling the bottle. With either I'd start saving for a forged bottom end.
my advice is displayed in my signature.This set up properly dyno-tuned & maintained...gives me all the hp I need plus I still get 30+ mpg when highway cruising at 1600 rpm ...this set up has been installed since 2005, no problems after 26,000 miles on this set up...only way I'd go...no nitrous--- no need...

I can bump my timing a couple degress and be over 700rwhp on a stock block. That's as good as any other "brand" is doing
I've had both;
I've run N2O on vettes (every one) trucks and jet skis (still on my truck )
For me personlly Nitrous is better in a drag race situation because it's easy to get hooked up and then smack it with TONS of torque, blowers are more fun because the power is always there.
i appreciate everyone's input, what want on my car is enough power so your 11 mustang gt or 10 camaro or stock 03 cobra want just blow my doors off. i had a 93 lx mustang that i went to far on and it wasnt fun to cruise anymore. i would like to make in the 425 hp range without spending 6000 for a turbo or supercharger. my car is a basic virgin and i dont want to mess with gears or the trans if i can keep from it.
go s/c instead of nitrous. I know a couple people that went that route and then sold that and went s/c. No bottles, and power is there all the time. Pick up a used A&A kit for a decent price.
If you say so.
Post your time slips, and then compare them with what stock block East Coast Supercharging cars do.
Don't make this personal!!
If you don't know what you're talking about, don't reply. I never said I had "THE FASTEST VETTE IN THE WHOLE WORLD", but since you weren't at my dyno session, don't ASSume you know anything about my cars capability.
I was answering the OPs statement concerning superchargers (he simply used procharger as a reference) and nitrous
To make a stupid statement like "prochargers have never done anything spectacular on a Vette is just ignorant and childish.
Spectacular and THE FASTEST TIME SLIPS IN THE WORLD, are two different things. The OP wasn't asking about building THE FASTEST POSSIBLE CAR, he was asking about a comparison between two power adders and got a commercal for "East coast Supercharging" from you.
Some people are experts on everything..............:leavi ng:
