Problems with Centerforce Clutch
Someone suggested that it might be an installation problem. I did not think that was it. The advice was correct!!
I took my car to Mr. Danny Popp at McClusky Chev in Cincinnati, Ohio and Mr. Popp found that two of the pressure plate bolts were completely loose and the clutch, pressure plate and flywheel were ruined as a result.
Mr. Popp replaced everything that my mechanic and I had replaced.
The Pilot bearing, clutch, pressure plate, throwout and slave cylinder.
There was nothing wrong with my Tick Bleeder and it was retained.
Mr. Popp installed an LS 6 clutch and it is working just fine.
When the original Centerforce dual friction clutch was installed, I could not get under the car and my mechanic installed it. I could only help with the transmission and differential. I have not talked to my mechanic as yet but I do not have any recourse.
This is just a word to wise. Take your car to Corvette Specialist as it will be cheaper in the long run.
I spoke with Mr. Mike Yeager at East Coast Performance and I want to thank Mr. Yeager for his advice and for taking the time to talk to me.
