Default Engine Idle troubles !!!!

So yesterday i decided to install a weiand intake manifold. Now my car dosnt have a good idle it sounds like its going to die then revs up to aroud 2000 rpms. Ive checked all the vacuum lines and it looks to be good. Is there something else that i need to do after installing an item likie this. Like maybe reseting the ecu to pick up on the new manifold. The car isnt giving me any codes and there isnt any check engine lights. Any ideas????

Probably have a vacuum leak at the manifold, get a vacuum guage on it.

Then why did you put on the intake? If your going to jump in-get a few BOOKS and a few TOOLS. Since the problem showed up when you did the intake, that's where I's start looking-chances are the intake is leaking somewhere and allowing air and/or coolant in somewhere causing your issues, low or erratic vacuum readings would confirm this.

So your advice is sound but your delivery is lacking. This is why many hesitate to post questions on the forum. I don’t remember an “only those experienced need apply” requirement to join the forum. In fact, it is touted as a way to share and learn from others with experience. To some degree that learning experience should be free of sarcastic and demeaning remarks. I did not have any formal mechanics training, but learned early (in the 60’s on various muscle cars and vettes I owned through trial and error) what worked and what did not. Over the years I built upon that “education”, collected a host of tools and like to tinker myself when time allows. But I don’t find it necessary or satisfying to criticize others with less experience or when they have stumbled upon the same mistakes I made when younger. But I guess there are those who just have to espouse their own knowledge and superior abilities. So to the OP, if you don’t feel comfortable doing it yourself find a shop and let them do it. Then read up on the process and be prepared the next time. In the mean time enjoy the journey through modding your vette and please be open to sharing your experiences for others.

Did you use new gaskets? Did you torque the manfold bolts correctly? Double check the vacuum hoses at the rear of the manifold.

idle surgeing is USUALLY caused by unmonitered air getting into your TB. Check all hoses and coinnections to make sure you didn't leave something loose.
If you still can't find a leak, get yourself a can of throttle body cleaner. Then, with the engine idleing spray some of the cleaner around the hoses and connections to you intake. When youi hit the right spot, where the air is getting in, you'll know it. DO NOT SPRAY ANY OF THE CLEANER NEAR OR ON YOUR EXHAUST MANAFOLD !!!
