Looking at this kit. (part number VR-B2) Is it all they claim it is? Their website says easy to install, but when you read their instructions it sounds like more of a project then they claim. Any feed back on this thing? Or any suggestions for a better kit?

Good Afternoon,
It is one of the more popular filters around this site and is a documented producer..... It is a PITA to install...
Although I don't normally recommend using the "SEARCH" feature, this is one time for the feature to pay big dividends......Guaranteed there is more than you ever wanted to know about Vararam.....
GL and Happy Searching
Tom
I just installed mine yesterday. It is a Royal PITA... I am not happy with mine...Yet.
Haha, Yep they are a challenge to install but you can pick up 2 tenths in the 1/4 mile for less than $300. After that it starts getting real expensive to shave a few tenths.
They're about a 3-4 hour job which you wouldn't think for an air intake. Bottom line...on these cars, it's the best RAM COLD AIR intake...2 huge ducts into one from both with ALL AIR coming from outside the car/engine compartment and a huge filter
edit: there aren't many air filters for these cars especially that may require a different tune because of adding so much air to the engine...this is a good thing imo

i installed mine in about 2 hours after i got the front on the car up. wasn't that bad to install, i would do it again if the need ever arises. only problem i had was that the drivers side fog light does not line perfectly, about 3/4 of the light shines thru the hole...
I just installed mine two days ago. It took about three hours, not too difficult, but a little time consuming. I took the Vette out on the highway today to try her out. I'm happy.
Did mine 2 weeks ago took me and a buddy 2 hours to do. The install is easy but my friend is a machine with tools. I love the intake btw my car with the LTH pulls hard in every gear now.
Today I worked on the vararam intake and Pro Duct install. I found the Pro duct had a problem along the seam and was leaking air. It caused my "check engine" light to come on and the codes started popping up(2). So I moved the MAF back to the original position and went back to the stock air bridge.
Now the intake works great with the stock air bridge but I have to figure out what to do about the Pro duct as it is not going to work in its current condition. I am happy with the intake but not about the duct... We'll see how this works out as I think I'll have to contact tech support.

Vararam has awesome customer support and tech support. If they cant figure something out for you over the phone, they will send you a new one or give you your money back guaranteed!
I installed it with the power duct in the spring. The install was time consuming. About 3 hours...but I was cleaning everything before I put it back on the car. I recommend it everyone trying to decide which intake to put on their C5.
I'll call them today. I do love the "feel" of the new intake on my vert. now if I can get the Pro Duct installed and working properly, I'll enjoy it even more!
Yes I did that. That end wasn't the problem. The lower end that attaches to the upper air box seems to have crimped along the seam so it isn't round anymore. I'm not sure how or why this happened. Likely installer error. Now it leaks everytime I install it but the intake itself with the stock air bridge works perfectly. So I'm not totally bum'd by this issue/problem as it'll work out some how.
I'm at work currently but will call them later when I get some free time or a break.
The first mods I ever did to my 2000 frc was vararam CAI that I got for 150 brand new in the box kooks LT, and slp catback and just with those mods I beat a lot of H/C f-body wich surprised me
