PCM Code
We took an extended trip (3K plus miles) and would every now and then get a "check engine" light. When I checked the codes it was always PCM 1416. It usually occurred after filling up, driving a few hundred miles then stopping. When I restarted the car the code was there. Once it was cleared it would not come on while driving.
From what I've gathered from other posts it is the air check valve behind the manifold. A repair not intended for a novice. So here's my question. Does the condition hurt anything if I simply keep clearing the code? We've been hit by the "out of work" hammer like many others and would rather not have to spend several hundred bucks to have my mechanic replace it.
Thanks
