They installed their new Stinger XR Headers and also threw on the Stinger exhaust. They sound great!!!! When i'm in 6th gear on the highway i can't even tell i have aftermarket exhaust but when i punch it it screams, especially over 3k rpm's.
Question though, when i let off the gas i hear the popping noise. It does it alot, pretty much the whole way down the rpm range. It almost annoys me. Will getting a X pipe help reduce the popping noise?
NY2CA , the installation of an X-pipe should eliminate all of the popping noise that you are currently experiencing ...I've got longtube headers with a tri-flow exhaust..and before i had an X-Pipe installed my car used to sound like an outboard boat motor when i was de-celerating.
If the Borla is just to much to take, keep me in mind and I can let you have the Stock exhaust from my 2000 with only 3200 miles on it, in exchange for the Borla.
I'm stock from the cat's forward. I have the magnaflow x-pipe and the Borla Stingers. I don't have any pops but a few burbles on decel but not constant. Hasn't annoyed me yet. Does the Borla headers work with the cats? More info or photo's on the headers would be great.
Yes the Borla Headers are Shorties. I paid $500 for them.
I guess popping wasn't the right word, burbling is more like it. It was doing it the whole time while de-celeration. I just put a X-pipe on (from top flight in san diego) and it reduced it but it's still there. I think because i have headers is why it's louder? The headers do work with cats but the burble was constant on decel. It's better now.
Anyway, i'm in no way unhappy. It sounds like an absolute beast at WOT. I love the dual canyon look to, i guess i'm alittle sick of the quad tips. Just my opinion though.
