If it's so stripped it's not moving, you should be able to reach underneath the headlight assy and push it up. If the gear is stripped, nothing should be holding it down.
yes i did the motor just spins its so stripped it will not raise the door, how can i get this open from under the car any help please thanks
The motor should not be spinning, if you are using the manual ****. make sure the light switch is turned off. the motor is off. when the gear breaks it strips two or three teeth, and then it just spins... the manual **** under the hood was put there for just this reason. it will bypass the broken teeth on the gear and allow you to raise the lights. The reason I dont think you know where the manual **** is located or how it works is your above response. It turns both ways so make sure you turn it in the correct way. it takes a lot of revolutions to raise or lower manually
well guys i got it fixed.the problem was the plastic gear and the rubber parts exploded in the motor witch in turn jammed the motor and it would not spin even if you tried to pull up on it.spent two days online trying to get door to pop up,no help.here is the fix,the arm that is bollted to the motor witch you cant get to, is pinned to the top of the headlight door all you have to do is slide push on clip off of the shaft and push the pin out and arm is now free of light and you can raise it up.you will have to have some one hold it up when you remove the 2 bolts and 3 nuts.once out of car just repin the arm to the light becarful to have the wires routed to the back of the arm or they could get cut. thanks again for the info and help
