Got the Magnaflow catback installed yesterday morning. 16732. Sounds great. Fit's like a glove. Tips look so much better. The challenge was getting the stock system off intact. I had to raise the rear of the car almost 4 feet. Still only took 2 hours. Backed up onto ramps and a floor jack with blocks of wood. Glad I chose Magnaflow again.
The Magnaflow system is top quality, and has a beautiful low tone that does have a little resonance from the trunk area. However, the standard Mag system (4 tip, large muffler cans) is barely louder than the stock ZO6 catback. I had it w/o mufflers (O/R X pipe) and headers, and it was still too quiet. I then did H/C and switched to Corsa Pace Car at the same time. The volume level was raised considerably. Of course, the tone was alot higher pitched, which I didn't like as much, but there was NO resonance, despite the fact that as a whole, it was much louder.
I installed the 16732 system last weekend. There was a lot of weld spatter that I thought should have been chipped off before buffing, but then I'm kinda particular...the system sounds great, no drone but with a little grunt now. I've got a x-pipe coming tommorrow that I'm sure will further improve it. Do I need to take the stock h-pipe off to cut it for x pipe install??
I believe you will be able to unbolt it for the install on the Magnaflow x-pipe.
The Magnaflow systems are top notch! We run a lot of them here w/ good results. They are a great option for adding performance and a nice tone without being obnoxious.

You don't need to unbolt the H-pipe section to cut it. However, I strongly recommend you use a chain exhaust pipe cutter. It makes beautiful straight cuts with a slight chamfer on the ends. The tool cost about 50 bucks and I was glad I had it when I installed my Corsa X-pipe. Just remember to measure twice and cut once. If you cut it too short, you are screwed.
