Default A/C Clutch Replacement

My A/C compressor is making a grinding noise when the clutch engages, but the A/C still blows cold air. I am thinking it's the compressor clutch and/or bearing. Is it possible to replace these without removing the compressor from the car? If I have to remove the compressor, I'll just replace the whole thing.

Thanks.

Steve

yep, mine was doing that then it finally began to lock up. it would stall the car at idle. Long story short it took about 10 to 12 hard working hours and I have cold ac again. I dont think it would have been too bad if I didnt have the 1 7/8 Long tubes! Good Luck!
