Ok,the driverside window makes a grinding sound when it goes down and window stops after two inches. Pulled off the innerdoor panel and it will go down all the way ,but still grindes the first few inches. Really can't locate the source of the noise. All pullies and cables are fine and nothing is loose or broken. Lubed the rails, cables and anything else that moves. Anyone else have/had this problem? Whats the fix,new motor? No noise or problems when going up,just down. Car is a 2004 C-5.
My passenger side started to make noises then eventually quit going down would get about an inch down and stop. The driver side started to act up also. Had both motor and cable assemblies replaced not a cheap fix.

I had the same problem. I had to change the regulator ($450) in the door panel.
Mic
Zip corvettes has the regulator assembly for 129. The install is pretty straight forward, there are a number of threads on how to do it. The hardest part is adjusting the window after, hint: leave the door panel off until its adjusted right, ask me how I know.
To find where it is leaking you can put painters tape around the seal at the top edge of the window. Put it on in pieces, then as you are driving at speed, peel each piece off until you hear the noise.
