Default TCS Problem

Anyone see a problem where the TCS acts like it's engaged even off the line when the tires aren't spinning? Turn it off and the car moves justs fine, but with it on the car won't go anywhere! I'm sure it is related to the TCS system and possibly the AHS system too, but the car isn't throwing any codes either. Hmm. Open for suggnestions? :D

Thanks,
Jeremy

Could the problem you are experiencing be similar to the sticky brake problem some of the '01s had. The symptoms you described are similar to what some of those guys were saying. I think the problem with those cars turned out to be a faulty power booster valve. That does not explain why your problem goes away when you turn the system off though. Are you sure about that or could it be coincidence.

I am positive and it is repeatable. TCS on and it won't go, TCS off and it goes just fine.

I wont get into an explanation as to why,but I have seen a few occassions where a faulty brake lamp switch causes this (the 1st one drove me nuts  )...If a Tech2 is available, you will see that it says brake "applied" in the data stream, even though it isnt, with no other symptoms...

For a quick check, you may want to check cruise control operation OR lift up on the brake pedal while driving to see if that eliminates the condition :yesnod:

C-5 Tech, thanks I will check that next.

What do you think about this?

The TCS problems isn't on my car, but the above brake light problem is. As recommended in that thread I was going to check my hazard light switch next since they don't come on either with the hazards.

Thanks Again,
-Jeremy

1ST,check for voltage to the bulb harness. If voltage is present, you need to check the ground. The ground for the right rear is SP400 (splice pack),located in the Rear body harness, taped back to harness between backup lamp and tail/stop lamp breakout.(terminal G in splice pack for right rear)...The splice pack is a ground junction (black wires)...

And if voltage is not present? I already removed, inspected, and cleaned the grounds. I also replaced the splice pack that connects to the ground through then antenna with a new one. I'll put a meter on it tonight...
