Default Question for Valentine 1 users......

I just received my new V1 with concealed display today. I was wondering where the majority of users are mounting the concealed display module? Also having a convertible, I would assume that I should mount the unit directly below the rear view mirror to be somewhat centered with the small rear glass on the vert. Any thoughts would be appreciated. I am considering having the unit hard wired into the car also. Thanks.

I mount my V1 using a visor bracket on the passenger side.
I have placed the concealed display infront of the temp gauge.
The mirror and visor bracket can be purchased from:

Mine is a coupe so I don't have the smaller rear window. I did hardwire it though and mounted the primary unit at the top of the passenger's side windshield for the best concealment. I mounted the remote display to the left of the steering column on that small shelf. It does block the lower half of the temp guage, but the needle is visable from below operating temp on up. It was the best position I could find. I tried it in the ashtray opening, but found that was too far to move my eyes from the road to monitor it. I found that it is just as easy to scan as is lowering my eyes to check the speedo.

You're gonna love the Valentine! :yesnod:

I would think that it needs to be mounted just below the rear view mirror and centered. I don't know why you would want to conceal it anyway, who are you concealing it from? The radar cop up ahead, he cant see into your car. Or are you concealing it from the cop who just pulled you over, in that case it's too late. You just might as well throw the unit in the glove box once pulled over. I would think that for optimum performance, especially on the vert, you should mount it to correspond with the middle of your rear window just below the rear view mirror.

I mounted my V1 on a homebrew metal bracket (I bought at Home Depot for an unknown project) that I secured to the right of the mirror using the screw that hold the passenger side sun visor. It is long enough to go through my metal bracket (a piece of metal that is 3/4 inch by 6 inches long, bent to an S shape and painted black). The concealed display is in front of my gas gauge (I have the “miles left display” always on the DIC). Wired it into the car’s DC system using the link mentioned above.

Our V-1 is mounted with the suction cups just to the right of the mirror. Hard wired per the tech info section instructions, and the remote is mounted just in front of the fuel gauge. Tried to mount on the center of the steering column, but it blocks the DIC area.

The remote is in front of the fuel gauge, but no issue in seeing fuel level. It really only blocks the bottom of the gauge.

I assume that by mounting the concealed display anywhere above the steering column some gauges will have their view blocked? It seems as though that's where the majority of owners are mounting them though.

Mine does block the fuel gage a bit, but the HUD shows fuel level. With the location I have used and the HUD, I can see the Cop, My Speed, and the Radar status all in the same field of view. Awesome.
