Just got my 1st vette in 20 years. 99 6spd with 28k on it...what a car! I have a problem starting when it sits for more than a day or two. It cranks a lot b4 starting. Once I use it daily, no problems. I suspect the fuel pressure is bleeding down. Car has no problems at full throttle or any normal acceleration. Does each injector have an individual check valve, or is there a main check valve somewhere on the fuel rail? Thanks for any help............
Connect a fuel pressure gauge to the fitting at the front of the driver's side fuel rail. Its under the coil cover.
Check the pressure BEFORE you start it and then after it starts. The pressure should hold in the system for quite some time after you shut it off, if it bleeds off quickly you have a leaky injector(s) or the pump may be getting weak.
