The correct gap is .040". By changing the gap you risk damaging the plug tip. Others on here have done it with no apparent damage. Or, you could return them for ones properly gapped.
If you gap those by prying in between the tip and the electrode, you will most likely damage the iridium on the tip. Are you out in the boonies? I would think that you could get a set locally and then just send back the plugs to Parts Taxi, that way you could check the gap in the store.
I went and bought a second box and had the guy at the part store check one and it was .040 with the cheap 99 cent taper tool.
My 2.50 cent one is giving me problems. The new box measured the same gap as the one from parts taxi with the different tool
I just got a set from parts taxi and the gap it's .33 as well.
I measured with a set of feeler gauge.
I'll recheck in the am. I'll check the feeler gauge with a set of calipers to verify the thickness.

There is a gaping tool that does not pry on the electron.
I have one ,however I can't find it. it bends the tip by putting pressure under it or over it depending which direction you want to go.
I bought it for .99 cent 25 years ago.
