Passanger Mirror ****HELP****
My passenger mirror is broken.
It now spins left and right isn't locked in place anymore.
What does it take to fix this? Is a whole new mirror needed that requires painting?
Please give me the detain on how to fix the problem.
Thanks, :flag

Re: Passanger Mirror ****HELP**** (ddawson)
It is a complete mirror assembly, hopefully in warranty. If not, after dismantling the mirror [remove lens and servo] the best fix I've heard of drills a hole through the cowl into the base and runs a screw through. My approach [in an emergency] utilized 2X tape cut to shape and it held for so long I almost forgot about the shoddy repair.

Re: Passanger Mirror ****HELP**** (TeeJay)
I've replaced the pass. side mirror.
After the Chevy dealer parts guy swearing to me there was only 1 mirror, I had it painted and when I went to put it on, the wiring harness was wrong.
Memory package car have a different mirror than cars without.

OMG! I did it myself for $150 w/memory pkg.
Bodyshop is gonna be...what $300-400.
Ouch!!!
Your option would be to buy the mirror, have a bodyshop paint it and put it on yourself. If you have a screw driver and a 13mm socket, it's pretty easy.
save yourself $$ and e-mail me for the step by step instructions

Re: Passanger Mirror ****HELP**** (Gary2KC5)
The mirror broke when someone walked by and clipped the mirror :mad
I saw it happen from my office window as my alarm went off, but I have no clue who the person was.
Insurance is going to cover it so I'm only out $100.
Thanks though.

O.K. a comp claim won't effect your rates and $100 is pretty easy, and no hassles with the Chevy parts guy!
It really is easy to put on, but not as easy as writing a check. It's still a hassle though. Sorry you had to witness the deal too!

I had it happen to my drivers side mirror. I followed the same approach as TeeJay and it worked fine and saved me a couple hundred.
