As title says I would like to hear from anyone running the #799 heads on their car. I have a set ready to install on mine and wonder what others think about the #799 heads. Any input would be very helpful. Thanks
799 and the 243 are the same casting. The 799 being the LS2 and the 243 being the LS6 head. I'm running 799's that have been ported and polished by PRC. They also installed a set of stainless valves and the PRC double spring kit. I'm very happy with how they turned out. What heads do you have on now?

243 were also used on LS2's.....less the sodium filled valves. Some C6 guys have even reported having one of each (243 and 799) right from the factory.

I have the stock 2001 LS1 heads on now. I have a new set of Z06 valves to put in the 799 heads when I put them on. The 799 heads came with behive springs on them but not the yellow springs. Does anyone know how the behive springs on the 799 heads compare to the yellow springs on the Z06 #243 heads?
Not exactly sure, but if you are running a stock cam and don't plan on running your engine above the stock rev limit, I think you should be fine. If you have a higher lift cam or plan on extending the rev limit, I would recommend some better springs. See what lucky has to say.
