Gear/TC/PCM Install Question
Planning on doing a Gear/Tc Install soon, I was planning on getting
the PowerLoader II for the programming but at this rate ill be driving
the new C6 by that time, so I think im going to send the PCM out to
Ed Wright for the programming. Question is:
- Do I do I have the Install done, Drive the Car home 45-60 mins,
then take the Pcm Out and send it away??
or
- Send the PCM In,
Install it, then drive it 45-60 Mins to get the gear/tc Installed??
or
- Is it best to Send it out While the install is going on (1 day) and
leave it sit at the installers shop for 2-3 days (Don't really want to)
Will the Drive Screw anything up, or will it just not run right?? The drive
will be 95% Highway Driving
Thanks
Mike
I don't know if it will screw anything, but I personally don't prefer to drive the car when I know that there is something wrong in it.
Good Luck
The biggest hang up to driving it with your current program will be that your shift points will be high. In the case of WOT shift points they may be over your rev limiter. Since you won't be hammering on it right away that shouldn't be much of an issue. The bigger the jump in gear, the bigger the issue. I drove my 3.73/SY3500 home w/o a PCM update, no issues.
