First off, I did a search here, and on google, looked at too many threads to count and found no solid answers to the first question.
Tire sensors, I have a set of new wheels off of a 06 C6 they are the stock run flat tires with plenty of tread left. Will the sensors work on the tires?
Will C5 vette's work without the TPMS modules at all?
how bad do the rear wheels look without spacers? anyone have a pic?
You can put your sensors in the new wheels. Depending on the year car, you can tune out the TPMS in the later cars, not the early ones. If you run without them, you will see the error everytime you start the car-you can clear it but it will return the next startup.
Hey Steve, I need to get a slightly thicker spacer for my rear BBKs so I can sell my 12mm ones if you want them. They are Hub and Wheel centric and were not cheap to have custom made! BUT there is ZERO vibrations or issues with them... as you know, I was running them at the Track when you were there with us.
I use 1/2" longer studs and ET lug nuts...
FYI the offset difference is about 7/16" according to Mike Mercury so 12mm is about perfect...
Concerning the sensors, the C6 sensors will not work on your C5. However, you can use your C5 sensors on the C6 wheels. You can then sell the C6 sensors on the C6 parts board. Seems to be a lot of demand for them there.
