On my wife(62k) car her gear selector strip lights went out last week
I look in the shop manual and all I found was to replace to shifter unit
Has anyone fixed this a cheaper way, can the bulb be replaced, if you can get to it?
Who has done it?
Which LED to buy?
I like to keep my cars in good shape and will fixed this one way or another

There was a thread on this a few months back. Do a search...
On my 97 I simply took a very small flathead screwdriver and gently pryed up the plastic piece (P R D321) then, using a small pair of needlenose plyers, removed the bulb (194 I think).

Thats the ticket. Just did mine a few weeks ago. Tried to get a LED in there but all were too tall.
