Remove Key-Wait 10 seconds.....
I was backing out of the driveway yesterday and the car quits. Just shuts down like someone turned the key off. DIC displays the remove key and wait 10 seconds crap. So I wait like 3 seconds or so (hey the heart stopped beating, 3 seconds felt like a lifetime). Car cranks up and everything is fine.
I know this has been posted before, but I couldn't find it so I figured I ask again.

I just replaced my battery yesterday and I got that message when I started the car. I pulled the key and waited the ten seconds and it was fine.

There are some other posts on this, probably in the archives.
Sometimes when you don't put the key in right, or if you pull it out and put it right back in, the car thinks it's being stolen -- so it makes you stop and start it again. If you ignore the message the car will stop, as you found out apparently. :yesnod:
