Default Unusual headlight problem....need advice

Hey everyone,

I have an unusual headlight problem that I can't seem to figure out. I have installed new brass gears recently and they work fine. In the mornings when I pull the car out of the garage it is usually fairly dark out. The auto headlights come on and the drivers side will come up but not the passenger side. On the way to work the sun comes up and the one headlight goes down. After the auto headlight goes down I can turn the headlights on and they both come up. This isn't a seldom occurrence it is every day. Is there a way to disable the auto headlights so I can manually turn them on or is there a way to diagnose what the problem is? The headlight motor doesn't make any noise and doesn't appear to be trying to open. The headlight comes on but it doesn't pop up......Any advice would be greatly appreciated because I am worried with it being a little darker in the mornings that I am going to get stopped and get a ticket for this.

Yes. You can turn off the "twilight sentinel" setting. It can be found in your owners manual.
