testing tmps
sorry if i am repeating this topic. could not find what i wanted in a search. anyway...is there anyway to test tmps that are off the wheels? i have a set of early C5 ones i want to sell and don't want to sell someone junk if they are no good. can the batteries in them be replaced? called a tire shop and they said they need to be on the wheels but wanted to see if someone here has other ideas.

You can test them for communication, but not function. in order to actually check the function they have to be on the wheel and on the car. You can replace the batteries but it isn't an easy thing to do.. there are several DIY threads on this subject.. its about an hour each to replace the batteries.. the first time you do it.. and if you make a mistake, compromise the circuit board, you wont know it until they are actually mounted.
